My power unit will not turn on, what can I do?

1. Check the breaker in your electrical panel and reset if necessary.
2. Check to see if the reset button on the power unit itself has popped out.
*Note- The reset button is located on the upper left hand side of the unit above where the low voltage wires connect into the machine. Most noticeable when popped out after the breaker has been tripped.
3. Check to ensure the power unit did not get unplugged accidentally.
4. If the power unit still does not come on, try plugging something else such as a hair dryer or lamp into the same electrical outlet. If the test item does not work, most likely there is an issue with the electrical receptacle. Call an electrician.
5. Were you vacuuming and the unit shut off? If the unit has been running for approximately an hour or more, let the unit cool down for 5-10 minutes and try again.
6. If the issue has not been corrected, please contact us.

The vac tubing located near my power unit has a black film on it, what is it?

The black film is carbon dust that is caused by the wearing down of the motor brushes. This is not an indicator of bad motor performance, just that the motor is being used. This dust typically accumulates on the PVC tubing that connects to your unit because the tubing has a static electric charge that attracts small dust particles. The best way to remove any of the dust that accumulates is with a stiff brush or vacuuming it. Getting the carbon dust wet causes it to smear.

I have low suction at the end of my hose handle, what could the problem be?

1. Have you recently had remodeling work done in your home that a nail or screw could have been driven through the vacuum tubing?
2. Check to ensure that all other valves and accessories such as a VacPan or Vroom is not in operation and are properly closed.
3. There could be a clog in your hose. Snake a dry garden hose from the wall-end of the hose to dislodge any clog that may have occurred. You can also insert a butter knife into the wall-end of the hose working it down to the clog. Shake the hose so that the butter knife will bounce agains the clog to dislodge it.
4. If you still experience low suction, does it occur at every inlet valve, or only at one valve? If just one valve, most likely there is a clog close to that valve. Look inside the valve and see if the clog is visible. If not, unplug the power unit and remove the dirt canister. Using an upright vacuum or utility vac, insert its hose nozzle into the valve and create a seal with your hand or a rag. You may be able to pull the clog back out of the valve. If not, contact us. If it occurs at every valve, there may be a blockage in the trunk line or if the system is older or used excessively, the motor may need to be replaced soon, contact us.
